Elana Bober’s drawings capture fleeting, ephemeral moments in nature: foamy waves crashing on the shore, the swirling depths of the ocean, and shimmering reflections of the sky. Inspired by her time spent along the Northern California coast—where tide pools and kelp-strewn cobbles meet her gaze—Elana depicts organic forms that, like thoughts, seem to emerge and dissolve in constant motion. Her watercolor compositions are fluid and layered, interwoven with reflective surfaces and sewing materials from her past as a textile designer. Diaphanous layers of paint alternately conceal and reveal, creating images that feel both ethereal and imperfect, like nature itself—delicate yet unrefined, gossamer but grounded.
